About us

Since 1978

The Rover Club Switzerland (RCS) was founded in 1978 and has been the national club bringing together enthusiasts of the ROVER brand for over 40 years. It is currently home to over 60 owners of the P2, P4, P5, P6, SD1 models and, of course, all current types of modern Rover cars and the Range Rover. The oldest vehicle at the moment, a Rover 16 P2, dates back to 1947. We are enthusiastic Rover drivers who want to remain loyal to this fine form of transportation in the future and keep the friends of the legendary brand together and preserve the values of ROVER. The age of the vehicle is absolutely irrelevant, all models are welcome.

Purpose

The purpose of the club is: the preservation and maintenance of our vehicles; the exchange of experience; assistance with restorations and repairs, the procurement of spare parts, etc.; the organization of events and excursions, and last but not least, the cultivation of camaraderie, even across borders to the other European Rover clubs. Together with the Rover clubs from Germany and Austria, we run a joint club organ, the club magazine RoverDrive, which appears twice a year and is distributed to our members free of charge.

Enjoying the Rover

Our club members support each other by sharing, giving tips and doing things. In short, we do everything we can to promote and maintain the enjoyment of our ROVER brand vehicles. In order to achieve our goals, we also maintain contacts with specialist parts dealers, workshops and like-minded clubs and organizations throughout Europe. Naturally, we pay particular attention to the British clubs, which are highly specialized and provide irreplaceable help in matters of spare parts procurement. Within the club, we help each other with advice and assistance as far as possible, which often leads to a lively exchange of information about the individual models. For all vehicle types, the club has so-called type advisors who are available to provide competent advice to club members.

Camaraderie

In addition to all the technology, we also cultivate conviviality and camaraderie. Several times a year, we gather our ROVERs, our families and friends for outings and joint visits to interesting events. We also regularly organize events lasting several days with friendly foreign clubs. The friendship cultivated in the club is almost proverbial and extends far beyond national borders.

What we cannot do

But unfortunately we cannot: For capacity as well as legal reasons, we cannot be a public information and contact point for complex technical questions. We ask for your understanding. For the same reason, we as a club do not trade in vehicles or spare parts ourselves. The MARKTPLATZ is available to our club members for such purposes on favorable terms: Please send advertising inquiries to the webmaster.
